Will I get help for my travel and equipment expenses at college?

Schools, colleges and training providers have bursary funds to help you if you’re studying or starting a course and face financial hardship.

16 – 19 Bursary Fund provides support to young people to help you stay in education and training  after 16. You can apply to your school, college or training provider.

Can I attend my son/daughters careers interview?

A.

All parents and carers are more than welcome to attend their son or daughters careers interview. The careers interview can be an excellent opportunity for not only your son/daughter to learn about the main providers of post-16 opportunities, but also for you to enhance your understanding of what options are available to your son/daughter. Therefore, parents are very welcome to attend their son/daughter’s careers interview.

It is advisable for parent/carers to attend the open evenings with their child as there will be a lot of information available to help you in supporting your child’s next step.

Can I attend the CEIAG events that take place, such as Careers and Skills Fairs, Career Coach?

All parents and carers are more than welcome to attend the CEIAG events that take place throughout the year. All events are displayed in and around the school and on the school calendar on the main 'Siddal Moor' website and this designated website.
