“When I was at school a career in Whitehall seemed like an impossible dream; in fact thinking beyond my GCSEs was a daunting task. It was important to me to enjoy my studies and so what started as a passion for reading and English classes turned into a longing to be a journalist and became my career focus throughout college and university until finally I worked on my local newspaper.

From humble beginnings at my local rag to being at the heart of British politics and international news is a dream come true.

I look back on my time at Siddal Moor as Head Girl with such fond memories. I believe I have achieved what I have so far simply because high school gave me a great appreciation for learning and education as well as gifting me life-long friends.”
